bet on paddy
In early pre production
Anti woke old school British / Irish comedy aimed squarely at over 50’s males. Not taking itself too seriously. Bet on Paddy is set in 1982 and is about ignoring the politics and refusing to give into hysterical mob rule. In any other period Paddy would sail into a great pro football deal but when the IRA start blowing up England, the writing is on the wall for any Irish apprentice hoping to make the big time. Luckily for Paddy an ex pro Tommy McGinty realises Paddy’s dad is Argentinian and Paddy can easily pass off as one. But when Britain declares war against Argentina over the Falklands, the writing is well truly on the wall and it is just not meant to be… but who would bet against this larger than life character. A true force of nature who refuses to let the Gods destroy his dream. Buckle up for some hard laughs and physical humour… this is gonna hurt.
Investment is simple.. No woke BFI, no BBC Films, no Film Four… just a simple £1 million private equity for 38% tax break and 25% of the IP, plus a £1,300,000 return in first position, the throw in an extra 25% producers net profits once phase one is returned. Click on link below to download PDF.
